In 2024 I moved from Malaysia to Melbourne on my own. I came with big dreams, mostly about making big money.
After a year of being loved by the people at church, I wanted to know the God behind it. In 2025, I gave my life to Jesus and got baptised.
Deervoted shows short Bible videos with the verse right there. After five, it asks you to pause, read the passage in context, and think it through for yourself.

How it works

Short videos from Christian creators, with the verse right under each one.
After five, Deervoted stops the feed and asks you to choose one passage.
Read it in context, notice what stands out, ask if the video got it right, and respond.
Why Deervoted
Every session ends with a pause, not another video.
See the whole passage, not just one line on a screen.
Context comes from published study notes written by people.
Miss a day and nothing breaks.
Your week
Watch, and a sprout appears. Finish a Selah, and it grows into a tree. Missed days are just grass. Nothing ever wilts.

2024 · Chapter 1
In 2024 I moved from Malaysia to Melbourne on my own. I came with big dreams, mostly about making big money.
After a year of being loved by the people at church, I wanted to know the God behind it. In 2025, I gave my life to Jesus and got baptised.

2025 · Chapter 2
Later that year I finished my church's course. At the graduation, my cell group leader gifted me a Bible. My very own.
I had the whole Bible within arm's reach, and I was choosing 30-second clips instead.

2026 · Chapter 3
I'm not going to pretend I have it figured out. I'm not a pastor or a theologian. I'm a new Christian with a mostly unread Bible.
That's why I'm building Deervoted. A Bible feed that tells you to stop.
The name comes from Psalm 42:1:
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God.”
That’s who I want to be: thirsty for the real thing, not just the highlights.
I’m building the app I needed first. If you’ve ever been handed a Bible and not known where to start, if English isn’t your first language either, or if you just scroll more than you read, I’d love for you to come along.
